This is interesting. The latest leak from Samsung ahead of the Galaxy S26 release could give you another reason to upgrade your phone. But if true, it also emphasizes just how reliant Samsung is on Google advances to power its latest flagship.<\/p>\n
Per GSMArena<\/a>, it seems Google\u2019s scam detection<\/a> is coming to Samsung\u2019s new phone. This is \u201cintriguing,\u201d GSMArena points out, because \u201cSamsung phones don\u2019t use Google\u2019s Phone app, and while you can install it from the Play Store, it\u2019s unclear if it will gain the necessary permissions to use on-device AI for its purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s also intriguing for another reason. Google\u2019s scam detection was the driver behind the Android-maker\u2019s safer-than-iPhone<\/a> campaign that heralded Android\u2019s lead in protecting users from malicious calls and text messages. <\/p>\n That campaign was based on a survey that predated Apple\u2019s release of iOS 26, which added both text scam filtering<\/a> and call filtering<\/a> to iPhone for the first time. <\/p>\n Samsung has always added its own advances to securing and safeguarding Galaxy phones, over and above stock Android software.
