Two arrests made as part of Operation Tara<\/p>\n

Gardai in Cork have seized herbal cannabis with an estimated value of \u20ac660k after a search of a vehicle led to follow-up operations targeting homes in Cork City.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the area, Garda\u00ed in Cork city stopped and searched a vehicle seizing \u20ac50,000 worth of suspected cannabis on Thursday 22nd.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: “Garda\u00ed carried out follow-up searches under warrant at a number of locations in Cork city during which suspected cannabis with an estimated value of \u20ac610,000 was seized, subject to analysis.<\/p>\n

Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, arrested in relation to this investigation have been charged and appeared before a special sitting of Mallow District Court today, Saturday 24th January 2026.<\/p>\n

Both men have been remanded to appear before Cork District Court on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026.<\/p>\n

The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.<\/p>\n
