I am delighted that these juxtapositions have touched the public\u2019s heart,\u201d said Olivier Gabet, director of the decorative arts department and curator of the hit show, whose run was extended by a month. He noted all designers and houses agreed to prolong their loans \u201cwithout hesitation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLaurence des Cars, president and director of the Louvre, said the popularity of the show \u201cconfirms the value of the intersection of disciplines and perspectives, as well as the Louvre\u2019s contemporary presence as a source of inspiration for all creators.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cMuseums are great mood boards,\u201d\u00a0Gabet concurred.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTo be sure, the fashion\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/accessories-news\/jewelry\/tiffany-and-co-legendary-legacy-exhibition-bangkok-thailand-1238078452\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">exhibition<\/a>\u00a0was not mounted for want of visitors: The Louvre attracts nearly 9 million people per year, and management decided in 2022 to cap the number of daily admissions to 30,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe museum is currently struggling with dated infrastructure and congestion, and will undergo a multiyear renovation incorporating a separate entrance for its forever main attraction: da Vinci\u2019s \u201cMona Lisa.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"MUSEUM QUALITY: Fashion may be in the doldrums, but it still can draw one helluva crowd.
