The man suspected of leading Ireland’s biggest crime<\/a> gang is in custody tonight – after armed gardai arrested him at Dublin Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Irish Mirror<\/a> has learned that the criminal – suspected of leading the outfit known as The Family – was arrested on Sunday evening at Dublin Airport.<\/p>\n

He was arrested by armed detectives from the Garda National Drugs and Crime Bureau – the force\u2019s main anti-gangland<\/a> unit.<\/p>\n

We have established that the criminal, from the Clondalkin<\/a> area of Dublin, is to appear in court in the city on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Sources say he is to face a charge of directing a crime gang – an offence that can carry a sentence of up to life upon conviction.<\/p>\n

Gardai have been targeting the Dubliner<\/a> for years – as they believed he led The Family, which makes millions of euro a month from the drugs<\/a> trade.<\/p>\n

It is now the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau\u2019s main target and makes at least \u20ac10 million a month from selling cocaine<\/a>, heroin and cannabis<\/a> on the streets of Dublin. It has replaced the Kinahan cartel<\/a> as the biggest drugs gang in Ireland.<\/p>\n
