{"id":303726,"date":"2026-01-26T01:25:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T01:25:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/303726\/"},"modified":"2026-01-26T01:25:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T01:25:15","slug":"mental-health-resources-available-following-string-of-tragic-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/303726\/","title":{"rendered":"Mental health resources available following string of tragic events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JACKSON, Wyo. \u2014\u00a0In the wake of recent community member deaths, the Teton Behavioral Health Alliance (TBHA) has shared mental health resources for those experiencing grief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur community is <a href=\"https:\/\/buckrail.com\/backcountry-user-caught-in-avalanche-on-teton-pass\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">grieving<\/a> following the <a href=\"https:\/\/buckrail.com\/teton-valley-search-and-rescue-pro-killed-in-snowmobile-accident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">recent deaths<\/a> of individuals who were recreating in <a href=\"https:\/\/buckrail.com\/community-grieves-local-max-martin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the mountains<\/a>,\u201d TBHA stated in a Wednesday announcement. \u201cThese losses have deeply affected friends, families, loved ones, and many across Teton County who feel a strong connection to the outdoors and to one another. Grief can show up in many ways \u2014 shock, sadness, anger, numbness, confusion or even guilt \u2014 and there is no \u2018right\u2019 way to respond. Whether you knew the individuals personally or are feeling the cumulative weight of recent events, support is available. No one has to navigate this alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TBHA advises the following for those experiencing the pain of these losses:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stay connected. Talk with trusted friends, family members or peers.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain basic routines when possible, including sleep, meals and time outdoors in ways that feel safe.<\/li>\n<li>Limit exposure to distressing news or social media if it becomes overwhelming.<\/li>\n<li>Seek professional support if feelings feel unmanageable, persistent or begin to interfere with daily life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those who are seeking support can check out the following resources:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>988 Suicide &amp; Crisis Lifeline: provides free, confidential support for people in distress and those supporting them. Call or text 988 for 24\/7 support. <a href=\"https:\/\/988lifeline.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/988lifeline.org\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Mental Health and Recovery Services of Jackson Hole provides compassionate, and affordable mental health and substance use services including a crisis line, walk in services, schedule appointments. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentalhealthandrecoveryjh.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/www.mentalhealthandrecoveryjh.org\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>TIPS, Teton Interagency Peer Support, (for first responders and their families) provides education, confidential peer support, and a direct link to mental health professionals for first responders and their families in the Teton County, Wyoming, community. <a href=\"https:\/\/tetontips.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/tetontips.org\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>SOAR, Survivors of Outdoor Adventures and Recovery, supports survivors and communities in healing after outdoor accidents. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soar4life.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/www.soar4life.org\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Climbing Grief Fund provides support to climbers and other mountain recreationists experiencing grief. <a href=\"https:\/\/americanalpineclub.org\/grieffund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/americanalpineclub.org\/grieffund<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Avalanche Resilience Project (for avalanche professionals and American Avalanche Association members only) provides support and resources for those impacted by mental health challenges associated with avalanches, avalanche work, or avalanche accidents. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanavalancheassociation.org\/resilience-project\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/www.americanavalancheassociation.org\/resilience-project<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The Redside Foundation (for guides only) supports the health and strength of the professional outdoor guiding community. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redsidefoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/www.redsidefoundation.org\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cTeton County is a place defined by strong connections \u2014 to the land and to each other,\u201d TBHA stated. \u201cIn times of loss, leaning into those connections matters. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, and support is available for anyone who needs it.
