{"id":305010,"date":"2026-01-26T21:14:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T21:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/305010\/"},"modified":"2026-01-26T21:14:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T21:14:08","slug":"glowing-nebula-turns-out-to-be-stellar-cradle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/305010\/","title":{"rendered":"Glowing Nebula Turns Out to Be Stellar Cradle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/RX_J0852.0%E2%88%924622\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Vela Junior supernova<\/a>, also known as RX J0852.0-4622 or G266.2-1.2, exploded a few thousand years ago, leaving behind a glowing nebula, but scientists couldn\u2019t answer just how far away it was and how big the explosion was. That has changed with the discovery of a still-forming star, <a href=\"https:\/\/simbad.cds.unistra.fr\/simbad\/sim-id?Ident=Ve+7-27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ve 7-27<\/a>. Using the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) instrument on ESO\u2019s Very Large Telescope, astronomers have now captured the first detailed image of Ve 7-27.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.sci.news\/images\/enlarge13\/image_14508e-Ve-7-27.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108213\" class=\"wp-image-108213 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image_14508-Ve-7-27.jpg\" alt=\"This VLT\/MUSE image shows Ve 7-27.
