{"id":30518,"date":"2025-08-29T10:26:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T10:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/30518\/"},"modified":"2025-08-29T10:26:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T10:26:09","slug":"youtube-and-fox-reach-a-deal-to-keep-fox-content-available-on-streaming-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/30518\/","title":{"rendered":"YouTube and Fox reach a deal to keep Fox content available on streaming platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Photo illustration of the YouTube TV logo displayed on a smartphone, with the YouTube logo in the background.<\/p>\n<p>Nurphoto | Nurphoto | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>YouTube and Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxcorporation.com\/news\/archives\/2025\/fox-corporation-and-youtube-tv-announce-distribution-renewal-agreement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announced<\/a> Friday that the companies had reached a deal to keep Fox News, Fox Sports and other Fox channels available on YouTube TV, following negotiations over a new distribution agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The companies had earlier reached a short-term extension to prevent disruptions for YouTube TV subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re pleased to have reached a deal that preserves the value of our service for our subscribers,&#8221; YouTube said in a statement shared with CNBC.\u00a0YouTube, owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/GOOGL\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alphabet<\/a>, as well as Fox did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>YouTube had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/08\/25\/google-youtube-tv-to-lose-fox-channels-if-new-deal-isnt-reached.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said <\/a>Monday that Fox was asking for payments &#8220;far higher than what partners with comparable content offerings receive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That comes after Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/08\/05\/fox-one-streaming-service-launch-date-cost.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launched<\/a> Fox One, a standalone streaming service last week, costing $19.99 per month or $199.99 annually.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the standoff, YouTube had warned it may remove Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News and Fox Sports from its platform by 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>That could&#8217;ve seen YouTube TV subscribers miss out on a highly anticipated college football match between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/rankings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">top-ranked<\/a> Texas against reigning national champion and third-ranked Ohio State on Sunday, and possibly the start of the National Football League season early next month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Brendan Carr, chair of the Federal Communications Commission, weighed in Friday, saying he was happy the two companies had reached a deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is great news for college football fans and avoids blackouts.
