Apple and Samsung have copied several features<\/a> and ideas from each other<\/a> over the years. The latest development on that front is that Samsung may have toyed with the idea of adding a dedicated camera button to the Galaxy S26 series, similar to recent iPhones. However, the company seems to have dropped that idea, according to a LinkedIn post discovered<\/a> by Android Authority.\n<\/p>\n

A former Samsung employee reportedly revealed on LinkedIn that they contributed to an initiative that developed a new dedicated camera button with swipe gestures for the Galaxy S26<\/a>, Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, based on most recently leaked renders of Samsung’s upcoming high-end smartphones, there doesn’t appear to be a dedicated camera button.\n<\/p>\n

It isn’t clear why Samsung dropped the idea in the end, though. Maybe the company didn’t like the final solution or it deemed it would be better to spend those resources somewhere else. Other brands like OPPO have already copied<\/a> the iPhone 16 Pro’s camera button and used it in their most recent flagship smartphones.\n<\/p>\n

\nGalaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra camera features\n<\/p>\n

The Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ won’t have any upgrades in terms of cameras. They reportedly<\/a> feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP front-facing camera with autofocus.\n<\/p>\n

The Galaxy S26 Ultra seems to feature<\/a> a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 12MP selfie camera with autofocus.\n<\/p>\n
