One mogul missing at\u00a0Melania Trump<\/strong>\u2018s sneak peek White House screening<\/a> of her new film on Saturday night was\u00a0Jeff Bezos<\/strong>. (Among the guests, as we reported, were CEOs of Apple, Zoom and Advanced Micro Devices \u2014 as well as Amazon execs\u00a0Andy Jassy<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mike Hopkins<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

We\u00a0previously reported<\/a>\u00a0that the screening included custom-made popcorn buckets, framed screening tickets and a military band playing a tune from the film called, \u201cMelania\u2019s Waltz.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s team insists that billionaire Bezos wasn\u2019t involved in her whopping $40 million Amazon MGM movie deal after he and\u00a0Lauren Sanchez<\/strong>\u00a0had visited Mar-A-Lago last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Marc Beckman<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 a producer on the film and Melania\u2019s exclusive senior advisor \u2014 says Melania\u2019s only mention of the film to Bezos during the meal was\u00a0after\u00a0other Amazon execs were already pitched the project.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBezos wasn\u2019t involved in the contract negotiations at all, ever\u2026 He never had a conversation with me about anything surrounding the film \u2014 ever,\u201d Beckman told us days before the film\u2019s debut.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Reports have said that Melania pitched Bezos directly on the project last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s what actually happened,\u201d Beckman said. \u201cThe only interaction during that family meal between Melania and Jeff \u2014 with regards to the film \u2014 was that when Melania commented to Jeff that I was in talks with Amazon\u2019s executive leadership, Bezos had no idea about the film or the contract negotiation. He wasn\u2019t aware that I was already in talks with his team, and didn\u2019t know about the film itself.\u00a0 It was a friendly meal with family members present, and definitely not a setting for a contract negotiation.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The] first person I reached out to at Amazon was in its executive leadership \u2026 I never interacted with Jeff \u2014 not an email, a text, he was never involved,\u201d Beckman says, adding \u201cduring the process, I became very impressed with Amazon\u2019s team, their vision, and experience in the film industry. It was definitely one of the key determining factors in making the deal.\u201d<\/p>\n
