{"id":307045,"date":"2026-01-28T00:28:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T00:28:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/307045\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T00:28:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T00:28:10","slug":"woman-in-her-60s-dies-following-swords-road-incident-involving-truck-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/307045\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman in her 60s dies following Swords road incident involving truck \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A female pedestrian has died following a collision with a truck in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/swords\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/swords\/\">Swords<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">Co Dublin<\/a>, this afternoon. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene at the junction of Church Road and Bridge Street in the town. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The woman\u2019s body has been removed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and a postmortem  will be carried out in due course.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The scene is undergoing a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road remains closed and local diversions are in place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/garda-siochana\/\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In particular, garda\u00ed are seeking the assistance of the driver of a small silver hatchback car that was not involved in the crash, but was travelling behind the truck at the time along Church Road before turning left on to the Rathbeale Road travelling away from Swords.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling in the area between 12.10pm and 12.40pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Anyone with information is asked to contact Swords Garda station on 01 666 4700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A female pedestrian has died following a collision with a truck in Swords, Co Dublin, this afternoon.
