{"id":308364,"date":"2026-01-28T17:46:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T17:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/308364\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T17:46:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T17:46:11","slug":"hong-kongs-us8-billion-wealth-fund-eyes-fintech-aerospace-and-ai-for-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/308364\/","title":{"rendered":"Hong Kong\u2019s US$8 billion wealth fund eyes fintech, aerospace and AI for growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The Hong Kong Investment Corporation (HKIC) is eyeing investments in fintech, aerospace and artificial intelligence, tapping the city\u2019s strengths and a wave of incoming talent and enterprises as geopolitical shifts create new opportunities, according to its CEO.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The city\u2019s wholly owned investment vehicle, which manages HK$62 billion (US$8 billion) in funds, would look at these new sectors in addition to its other focus areas, \u201cplaying to Hong Kong\u2019s advantages in the context of the global competition\u201d, Clara Chan Ka-chai said on Wednesday at the Asia Private Equity Forum.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cAs a long-term investor, you actually see through the cyclical challenges; you see great opportunities like valuations for you to go in,\u201d she said, referring to geopolitics and other risks.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">As an institutional investor, HKIC was actively seeking co-investments from international institutions and identifying quality growth companies, Chan said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Clara Chan, CEO of Hong Kong Investment Corporation.
