Emma Heming Willis<\/a>, Bruce Willis\u2019s wife and caregiver<\/a>, says that the Die Hard actor doesn\u2019t recognize that he has frontotemporal dementia<\/a> because he has anosognosia, a condition where the brain doesn\u2019t recognize a medical condition it has. \u201cPeople think this might be denial, like they don\u2019t want to go to the doctor because they\u2019re like, \u2018I\u2019m fine, I\u2019m fine,\u2019 actually, this is the anosognosia\u00a0that comes into play,\u201d she explained on the Conversations with Cam<\/a> podcast. \u201cIt\u2019s not denial. It\u2019s just that their brain is changing. This is a part of the disease.\u201d Bruce was diagnosed with dementia in 2023<\/a> and has been living separately from his family with full-time care since 2025, as the couple has two young girls living at home.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that\u2019s like the blessing and the curse of this, is that he never connected the dots that he had this disease, and I\u2019m really happy about that. I\u2019m really happy that he doesn\u2019t know about it,\u201d Emma continued, looking on the bright side. \u201cHe has a way of connecting with me, our children that might not be the same as you would connect with your loved one, but it\u2019s still very beautiful. It\u2019s still very meaningful. It\u2019s just \u2014 it\u2019s just different.
