The midfield star, who rejoined Derry City just last month, is in the process of settling back home with his wife and their youngsters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/all-about\/james-mcclean\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">The 36-year-old <\/a>kicked off his professional career with <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/all-about\/derry-city\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">the Candystripes<\/a> before heading to Sunderland over 15 years ago. Since then, he&#8217;s carved out an impressive career, racking up more than 100 caps for <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/all-about\/republic-of-ireland-football-team\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">the Republic of Ireland<\/a> and playing in excess of 700 games throughout England&#8217;s football leagues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">However, a blaze broke out at their property, and on Friday, January 30, his wife Erin McClean revealed they were fortunate the situation &#8220;wasn&#8217;t worse&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">It&#8217;s believed the boiler at their new residence ignited, though emergency crews managed to contain it swiftly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Taking to social media, Erin wrote: &#8220;What a day! Our boiler in our new house caught fire, and we are so lucky it wasn&#8217;t worse. Thank God for the fire brigade for arriving so quickly and making sure it was safe to return. Very thankful. When it rains, it pours&#8221;, reports <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.belfastlive.co.uk\/news\/northern-ireland\/thank-god-fire-brigade-james-33343877\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">Belfast Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The mum-of-four previously admitted the &#8220;hardest part of leaving England&#8221; was watching her children bid farewell to their football mates and pals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Documenting the <a aria-label=\"family&#039;sLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/all-about\/family\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">family&#8217;s<\/a> relocation with her online audience, Mrs McClean described Sunday as an &#8220;emotional day&#8221; for everyone. She posted a picture of their lad, Junior, clutching a signed football kit from Crewe Academy in Cheshire, calling the gesture a &#8220;lovely touch&#8221; as the family prepares to relocate to <a aria-label=\"Northern IrelandLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/all-about\/northern-ireland\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">Northern Ireland<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;A real emotional one today,&#8221; she penned. &#8220;This has to be the hardest part of leaving England.
