The same tiles also cover doorways and shelves that run around the base of the store perimeter.<\/p>\n<p>The design is based on a system that the studio \u2013 also named Penad\u00e9s \u2013 has already applied to Camper stores in Paris, Hong Kong and Bangkok.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2291119 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/camper-shin-maru-jorge-penades_dezeen_2364_col_8-852x1278.jpg\" alt=\"Shelves in Camper Shin Maru interior by Jorge Penad\u00e9s\" width=\"1576\" height=\"2364\"  \/>The same tiles cover doorways and low shelves<\/p>\n<p>Rather than coming up with a new interior for each store, the designers developed a concept that could be easily applied to any location, using materials that are sourced locally.<\/p>\n<p>The aim was to reduce the environmental impact of retail fitout, which often involves shipping materials around the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The objective was to design a retail system that could be applied globally, but always using local materials,&#8221; said Penad\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2291114 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/camper-shin-maru-jorge-penades_dezeen_2364_col_3-852x1278.jpg\" alt=\"Tiled display stand in Camper Shin Maru interior by Jorge Penad\u00e9s\" width=\"1576\" height=\"2364\"  \/>The tiles stand out against the contrasting aquamarine-coloured backdrop<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Based on the Mediterranean DNA of the brand, we bet on clay tiles: a humble, economic and sustainable material that can be found anywhere in the world in order to minimise the impact of our activity,&#8221; he continued.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Together with a bold monocolour space, we have created a retail identity that allows the brand to be recognised without compromising environmental integrity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2291121 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/camper-shin-maru-jorge-penades_dezeen_2364_col_10-852x1278.jpg\" alt=\"Curved tile surface in Camper Shin Maru interior by Jorge Penad\u00e9s\" width=\"1576\" height=\"2364\"  \/>Each block is formed of straight lines and two-dimensional curves, for easier tile application<\/p>\n<p>The furniture elements in each store are different, but they all employ the same geometric rules.<\/p>\n<p>Each is a combination of straight lines and two-dimensional curves, making it easy to apply tiles to the surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2024\/03\/12\/james-shaw-installs-jumbo-foot-in-london-camper-store\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"191\" height=\"191\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/camper-regent-street-store-james-shaw-interiors-sq-1-191x191.jpg\" class=\"excludeLightbox wp-post-image\" alt=\"Camper Regent Street store\" decoding=\"async\" data-pin-nopin=\"true\"  \/><\/p>\n<p> James Shaw installs jumbo foot in London Camper store\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A previous iteration includes glossy red tiles, while another swapped the tiles for a mix of locally sourced wood veneers.<\/p>\n<p>In each store, the designers incorporate references to Camper&#8217;s Mallorcan heritage. In Camper Shin Maru, the aquamarine colour was chosen to match the colour of the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2291120 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/camper-shin-maru-jorge-penades_dezeen_2364_col_9-852x579.jpg\" alt=\"Cash desk in Camper Shin Maru interior by Jorge Penad\u00e9s\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1606\"  \/>The tiles also clad a cash desk<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This store is a collaboration between Mediterranean culture and Japanese precision,&#8221; added Penad\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We try to use shades of blue and green in most of our Camper stores, to reference the island.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Overseen by designers Gema Barranco and Marina Vald\u00e9s, this is the ninth store that Penad\u00e9s has created for Camper. The first was completed in 2019 in M\u00e1laga, Spain, and was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2020\/03\/17\/jorge-penades-camper-store-malaga\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">built out of standard metal profiles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2291115 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/camper-shin-maru-jorge-penades_dezeen_2364_col_4-852x1278.jpg\" alt=\"Tiled display stand in Camper Shin Maru interior by Jorge Penad\u00e9s\" width=\"1576\" height=\"2364\"  \/>This is the ninth store that Penad\u00e9s has created for Camper<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2023\/03\/09\/jorge-penades-wrap-tape-interview\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an interview with Dezeen in 2023<\/a>, Penad\u00e9s explained how Camper was moving away from employing different star designers for every interior, placing a greater focus on functionality and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t invent anything.
