{"id":31855,"date":"2025-08-30T00:15:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-30T00:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/31855\/"},"modified":"2025-08-30T00:15:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T00:15:10","slug":"sabrina-carpenter-shocked-at-mans-best-friend-album-cover-response","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/31855\/","title":{"rendered":"Sabrina Carpenter Shocked at Man&#8217;s Best Friend Album Cover Response"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sabrina Carpenter released her seventh studio album \u201cMan\u2019s Best Friend\u201d Friday, and the cheeky pop star is not shying from the criticism of her album cover.<\/p>\n<p>When the \u201cEspresso\u201d songstress first announced the follow-up to her viral album \u201cShort n\u2019 Sweet,\u201d the internet was quick to judge the album cover of the singer on her knees, with some calling her promiscuous and a bad example for young girls.<\/p>\n<p>Carpenter herself did not anticipate the response, and she told Gayle King as much on \u201cCBS Mornings\u201d Friday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/join-pro\/?utm_source=article&amp;utm_medium=site&amp;utm_campaign=articlePROpromo&amp;utm_id=070825\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"309\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1756512910_413_Free-Trial-General-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7794376\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBetween me and my friends and my family and the people that I always share my music and my art with first, it just wasn\u2019t even a conversation,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was just, like, it\u2019s perfect for what the album is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything about it to me just felt like so opposite of the world ending,\u201d she added. \u201cY\u2019all need to get out more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to the criticism initially, Carpenter released alternate covers for the album, which she deemed \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DLVG5rrxyr_\/?img_index=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">approved by God<\/a>.\u201d The singer-songwriter said her interpretation of the album cover is about \u201cbeing in on the control, being in on your lack of control and when you want to be in control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, this whole album was about the humanity of allowing yourself to make those mistakes, knowing when you\u2019re putting yourself in a situation that will probably end up poorly,\u201d she said. \u201cBut it\u2019s going to teach you something, so there was a lot of different meanings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<a class=\"the-wrap-read-more__image\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/sabrina-carpenter-2025-vmas-performers-list\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/sabrina-vmas.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"Sabrina Carpenter\"   data-portal-copyright=\"TheWrap\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\"\/>\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And for those who still won\u2019t jump on board, Carpenter seemed unbothered: \u201cThey hadn\u2019t heard the project. They don\u2019t know me. They don\u2019t know my intentions.\u201d Then she joked to King that her parents actually loved it.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cManchild\u201d singer opened up about leaning into her sexuality as she has gotten older. She said weaving that part of her life into the music has come naturally. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t realize it was as taboo of a topic until I started writing about it more freely,\u201d she said. \u201cI just do what makes me happy, what makes me laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for her suggestive lyrics, she said those are always what jumps out for her first then she conceptualizes how she packages the music for her fans.
