{"id":31932,"date":"2025-08-30T01:07:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-30T01:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/31932\/"},"modified":"2025-08-30T01:07:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T01:07:10","slug":"watch-eye-catching-daniel-dress-takes-centre-stage-thanks-to-cmat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/31932\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch: Eye-catching Daniel dress takes centre stage thanks to CMAT!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\">\n<p><strong>Two Letterkenny designers are on a high as their Daniel O\u2019Donnell-inspired creation goes viral.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Twin sisters Mirren and Brodie McFeely of C\u00fapla designs created the \u2018Daniel\u2019 dress in homage to the \u2018King of Donegal\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Now it\u2019s on its way to cult status after CMAT wore it in her new music video AND wore it on stage at Belfast Vital.<\/p>\n<p>Singer-songwriter CMAT, from Meath, took a fancy to the dress when filming for \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ADfHrteW-QE\" data-rel=\"lightbox-video-0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">When A Good Man Cries<\/a>\u2019 in Letterkenny. Her ensembles were selected by stylist Katie-Ruby McLaughlin Robinson, also from Letterkenny.<\/p>\n<p>A large number of talented people from Donegal were involved in CMAT\u2019s new video, including the director Eil\u00eds Doherty, lighting professional Emmet Toner, and production runners Amy Kinsella, Aggie Doherty, and \u00c1ine Gillespie.<\/p>\n<p>When filming wrapped, Katie told the McFeely sisters that CMAT had fallen in love with the dress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe made it a mission to make one for her,\u201d Mirren tells <strong>Donegal Daily<\/strong>. \u201cThe stars aligned that we were in Belfast yesterday and we managed to get on the guest list for CMAT\u2019s gig in the Oh Yeah Centre. She was buzzing to get it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so thankful to Katie because she is the main reason we got the gig.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CMAT proudly wore the dress while supporting Sam Fender at Belfast Vital last night, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DN8QrwGjGrq\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">again today in Dublin<\/a> to launch her new album, Euro Country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t get over it, it has travelled about the place,\u201d says Mirren.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-605839\" class=\"size-full wp-image-605839\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/PHOTO-2025-08-29-15-46-23-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"1200\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-605839\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">CMAT on stage at Belfast Vital<\/p>\n<p>The daughters of Anthony and Bernie McFeely, Mirren and Brodie\u2019s \u2018C\u00fapla\u2019 brand has been growing for the past year.<\/p>\n<p>Both Ulster University graduates, Mirren has a degree in Graphic Design, while Brodie has a degree in Fashion and Textiles.<\/p>\n<p>Mirren was awarded a Graduate in Residence in her field for 24\/25 at Belfast School of Art, which is when the \u2018Greetings from Donegal\u2019 clothing collection was born.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring a Banba\u2019s Crown skirt, a Suckin\u2019 Diesel tank, and a sweater inspired by The Cottage Bar, the collection is a celebration of Donegal heritage, rooted in nostalgia but not afraid to poke fun at itself.
