More than four months after the blockbuster release of The Life of a Showgirl and its first single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” Taylor Swift<\/strong> is getting ready to drop the second video from her best-selling album.<\/p>\n

The singer announced that “Opalite” would be her next music video, unsurprisingly exciting fans, who noticed a wrinkle in the details that speak to some reason changes in the industry.<\/p>\n

Here’s everything we know about Taylor Swift’s upcoming video for “Opalite.”<\/p>\n

What is it?<\/p>\n

“Opalite” is the third track on Swift’s 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, and the second-most streamed track from the record on Spotify. Having racked up more than half a billion listens on Spotify since October of 2025, the song is an obvious pick for the next single after “The Fate of Ophelia,” which is nearing one billion streams.<\/p>\n

When will it be released?<\/p>\n

The video for “Opalite” is set to drop at 8 a.m. ET\/5 a.m. PT on Feb. 6… on some platforms.<\/p>\n

“Some platforms”?<\/p>\n

Yes! “Opalite” will only be viewable at first to premium subscribers of Apple Music and Spotify. The video is scheduled to hit YouTube two days later.<\/p>\n

Why’s that?<\/p>\n

There’s been no official comment on the reason by the bifurcated release, but many online are speculating that the YouTube delay has to do with the Google-owned streamer withdrawing its metrics from Billboard’s charts, meaning that streams wouldn’t count toward placement on the Hot 100. (Note: Billboard and Gold Derby are both owned by Penske Media.) With “Opalite” living on Spotify and Apple Music at first, the initial wave of streams on Feb. 6 will count toward chart placement.<\/p>\n

What are its awards odds?<\/p>\n

Since The Life of a Showgirl dropped within the current eligibility window for the Grammys, it won’t be until next year that Swift will compete for the awards again. And when nominations are announced, “The Fate of Ophelia” is more likely to be singled out, given Swift’s track record at the ceremony.<\/p>\n
