{"id":323012,"date":"2026-02-06T07:03:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T07:03:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/323012\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T07:03:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T07:03:08","slug":"son-of-limerick-euromillions-winner-eyes-huge-housing-development-in-limerick-suburb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/323012\/","title":{"rendered":"Son of Limerick Euromillions winner eyes huge housing development in Limerick suburb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE family of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/231\/planning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Euromillions<\/a> winner Dolores McNamara have sought planning permission for a huge new general housing and<br \/>student accommodation\u00a0development in Castletroy.<\/p>\n<p>A&amp;G Thomond Builders Ltd, whose directors are her son Gary\u00a0McNamara and his wife Michelle, are seeking to construct on land situated between the Groody Road and Caislean Na hAbhann over a seven year period.<\/p>\n<p>According to a planning notice, the development will consist of 95 apartments, 22 houses and a purpose-built student\u00a0 accommodation scheme comprising of 309 bed spaces for those studying at third level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/crime-and-courts\/2006374\/limerick-car-dealer-claims-gardai-were-involved-in-extorting-money-from-him-court-hears.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick car dealer claims gardai were involved in extorting money from him, court hears<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 95 apartment units will be distributed across four separate blocks of 4.5 storeys, the notice reveals.<\/p>\n<p>They will comprise 18 one-bed units, 74 two-bed units and three developments which will have three sleeping spaces.<\/p>\n<p>The 22 houses are expected to rise two storeys.<\/p>\n<p>They will feature eight four-bed units, and 14 three-bed units.<\/p>\n<p>A creche is also expected to be provided on site.<\/p>\n<p>The student accommodation part of the development will be spread across four separate blocks of five-storeys.<\/p>\n<p>Three seven-bed apartments are planned, with 36 eight-bed apartments.<\/p>\n<p>Mother-of-six Dolores made international headlines in 2005 after scooping \u20ac115m from the Euromillions.<\/p>\n<p>She had purchased a \u20ac2 quick-pick ticket from her local shop in Garryowen.<\/p>\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT &#8211;
