There is no sign of the traditional good back to school weather, as the recent wet and windy spell continues today and into next week.<\/p>\n
Electric Picnic attendees should have ponchos and wellies at the ready this morning as the day starts off wet and blustery. Rain will spread across the country and could turn heavy or thundery, leading to localised flooding in some areas.<\/p>\n
The rain will clear up later today to leave a mix of sunshine and showers. Highest temperatures will be between 16 and 21C.<\/p>\n
It will remain breezy tonight with the west and the south getting the worst of the showers, though it will be mostly dry in other areas. Those showers will again turn heavy or thundery in some areas, bringing a chance of flooding. Lowest temperatures will range from 10 to 13C.<\/p>\n
A \u201cbreezy and showery\u201d day has been forecast for tomorrow. \u201cWidespread showers\u201d will turn to longer spells of rain, particularly in the west and north west, with limited sun and highs of 14 to 18C.<\/p>\n

7-Day Weather Forecast: August 25-31 <\/p>\n
Showers will continue into Sunday night and again turn into longer spells of rain in the west and northwest. There will be a mix of clear spells and showers in other areas, with lows of 10 to 13C.<\/p>\n
Monday will bring a mix of sunny spells and showers which could turn heavy or thundery at times, though they will ease off in the evening.<\/p>\n
While the wet weather will remain on Tuesday, there will be some relief in showers not being as heavy or widespread as the days prior.<\/p>\n
Beyond that, Wednesday is also expected to be unsettled, and though there is \u201ca good deal of uncertainty\u201d in Met \u00c9ireann’s forecast for the latter part of next week, current signs show more rain is on the way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Festivalgoers on the first day of the Electric Picnic festival at Stradbally in Co Laois.
