Who scored the first hat-trick of the 2025/26 Premier League season? Well the answer so far is ‘nobody’ – but that could well change if Paddy Power tipster Andrew Beasley gets this one right!

Right off the back of two successive winning bet builders, for Liverpool v Bournemouth (23/1) and Arsenal v Leeds (19/1), this could see him complete the sort of treble Man United fans can only reminisce about these days.

Our next port of call is Elland Road, where Leeds United are back in the Saturday 5:30pm kick off slot for the second week running, hoping to do better than they did when getting thumped 5-0 at Arsenal last Saturday.

Home advantage will obviously help, as will the fact that visitors Newcastle are under more pressure than Leeds – the Magpies are yet to win, having drawn with Aston Villa and lost to Liverpool.

Eddie Howe will be missing several key players for all manner of reasons, but will the home side be able to take advantage? Here are five Leeds v Newcastle betting selections for the match that you can put together in an awesome Bet Builder.

There’s one player pick in here, too, which falls under Paddy Power’s Super Sub offer, meaning if a player is substituted, the pick will carry over to his replacement.

Leeds V Newcastle Bet Builder Tips

Leeds/Draw Double Chance
Both Teams to Score? In a very confident showing, Daniel Farke’s men accumulated another 20 shots on top of the matchwinner, including two Opta-defined big chances.

It’s 18 months since a team from outside the established ‘big six’ managed to have so many goal attempts against the Blues. That’s impressive going against a team always looking to get a point first and ask questions later when on the road.

Even without the wantaway Alexander Isak, Newcastle seem to be better equipped than Everton to take down Leeds on their own turf – more especially in the context of a perfect record from their last eight matches against newly-promoted sides.

But it might not be so straightforward on Saturday evening. That’s because Isak’s temporary replacement, Anthony Gordon, is now suspended following a brainless red card in Newcastle’s 3-2 defeat against champions Liverpool.

Meanwhile, midfield dynamos Joelinton and Sandro Tonali went off injured in that dramatic Monday night duel. In turn, the Whites should fancy their chances of at least avoiding defeat, considering the visitors’ personnel issues.

Both Teams to Score? Yes

Even if they get the positive result we need, the home side are unlikely to keep a clean sheet.

Howe can still field Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes on the wings, plus likely centre forward Will Osula, who scored on Monday night. Dan Burn will fancy his chances against a team that conceded twice from corners at Arsenal too.

Newcastle also had a very strong record for scoring on the road last season, albeit they drew a blank at Aston Villa two weeks ago. Aside from away games against the top three sides in 2024/25, the Magpies only failed to find the net at Everton.

Anton Stach to Score or Assist

Lukas Nmecha still accounts for Leeds’ only league goal so far this season, despite playing for just 44 minutes. He might help us as a Super Sub if he replaces our chosen player, but we need to pick a likely starter for a prop bet.

The data is pointing firmly towards Anton Stach, who created seven chances across the first two matches – just one fewer than the rest of Farke’s squad combined.

Stach is also joint-top of the shots chart for Leeds, with just shy of half of the team’s goal attempt total being taken or set up by the German. With that level of influence, Stach looks excellent value to notch up a goal contribution against the Magpies.

Over 9.5 Corners

Though these sides haven’t played each other for over two years, it’s hard to ignore this fixture’s tendency for a high corner count. Of the six head-to-heads played during Leeds’ previous stay in the top-flight, all featured Over 7.5 (or 8+) flag kicks, while four saw Over 10.5 (or 11+).

Newcastle’s matches also had the joint-second highest average in the 2024/25 Premier League, at 11.1 corners per match.

On the flipside, Leeds’ recent games vs Everton and Arsenal saw nine and four respectively, so we shouldn’t aim too high. Over 9.5 Corners feels plausible, given the Magpies’ recent record.

Under 3.5 Cards

There were six yellows and a red card in Newcastle’s last match. However, Liverpool have had the temerity to make a bid for one of their players, so it’s understandable if everyone was a bit fired up.

That match was also taken by Simon Hooper, who averaged 4.67 yellow cards per game last season – second only to John Brooks amongst referees who had ten or more appointments.

Peter Bankes is the man in black for this one, and he’s far likelier to keep his cards in his pocket, at least on the basis of a comparatively paltry 3.74 yellows per-game during 2024/25.

Next to Mr Bankes, only two referees had more Premier League games pay out on this selection last season, and with Leeds’ matches averaging just two yellows so far this campaign, a return of no more than three cards at Elland Road seems reasonable enough.

Leeds V Newcastle Bet Builder Tips

Leeds/Draw Double Chance
Both Teams to Score?
