The Alexander Isak to Liverpool \u2018deal is done\u2019 according to a journalist who later revealed Newcastle are \u201cnot even talking\u201d to the Reds.<\/p>\n
Reports have suggested\u00a0an improved bid of \u00a3130m for Isak is set to arrive over the weekend<\/a><\/strong>, and although it\u2019s been claimed Newcastle want to sign two strikers before sanctioning his exit, they have got a \u00a370m deal for Nick Woltemade over the line, with the Germany international thought to be a direct replacement for Isak.<\/p>\n Former football turned journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft dropped the bombshell news that the \u2018deal is done\u2019 for Isak ahead of Newcastle\u2019s trip to Leeds on Saturday night.<\/p>\n Fjortoft wrote on X<\/a><\/strong>: \u2018Re: Alexander Isak Understand Isak \u2013 deal is done! Newcastle away at Leeds tonight, so nothing expected before that I am told. Fee expected to be around \u00a3130m Isak to Liverpool likely to happen very soon.\u2019<\/p>\n Various other journalists and outlets were quick to dismiss Fjortoft\u2019s claim.<\/p>\n Ben Jacobs wrote on X: \u2018As of Saturday morning, Liverpool sources insist there is no agreement in place yet for Alexander Isak. If a deal gets done, the expectation is it will be for below \u00a3130m or not at all. Isak remains optimistic of a move to Anfield before the window shuts.\u2019<\/p>\n MORE LIVERPOOL COVERAGE ON F365<\/strong> And Fjortoft did then backtrack somewhat while on BeIn Sports punditry duty for for Manchester United\u2019s clash with Burnley.<\/p>\n Ahead of the game at Old Trafford, he said: \u201cWhat I\u2019ve been told is the deal is done, they have agreed, he will go to Liverpool.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I also see now that Liverpool are speaking through \u2018sources\u2019 as well saying nothing is done.
