Boaters were left stunned after seeing 100 sea creatures off the coast of California, a whale-watching company said.<\/p>\n

Boaters spotted 100 \u201dexcited\u201d bottlenose dolphins as they raced alongside passengers on Aug. 28, Jessica Rodriguez, the communications manager at Davey\u2019s Locker Whale Watching in Newport Beach, told McClatchy News in an email.<\/p>\n

Sea creatures were spotted launching off the coast of California, a company said.<\/p>\n

The large pod rode the boat\u2019s wake, making for a \u201cstunning show of athleticism,\u201d Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n

The dolphins launched from the water during the \u201cenergetic display,\u201d as the \u201dplayful\u201d ones erupted 10 feet into the air during the \u201crare\u201d behavior called \u201chigh flying,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

This behavior is not common among bottlenose dolphins, and Rodriguez said it shows how unbreakable their \u201csocial bonds\u201d are.<\/p>\n
