(Image: Millom Coastguard Rescue Team \/ SWNS)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A highly poisonous plant that can kill humans in hours has been spotted on an<a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/all-about\/beaches\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\"> Irish beach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Hemlock Water Dropwort, which is also known as &#8220;Dead Man&#8217;s fingers&#8221;, was spotted by locals after it washed up on Bettystown and Laytown beaches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The killer plants, which resemble wild parsnips and can smell like carrots, are usually washed in by the tide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">It can lead to death in humans and animals within hours once it attacks the nervous system, which causes the body to shut down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The plant can also lead to convulsions and death by suffocation. Keep pets and little ones close.
