Previous tests relied on detecting markers of Alzheimer\u2019s proteins in cerebrospinal fluid\u2014often requiring a lumbar puncture\u2014but the latest test looks for the ratio between two hallmark disease proteins in blood, offering a less invasive option and the opportunity for more patients to be diagnosed early and potentially benefit from treatment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"rich-text self-baseline font-graphik text-body-large text-black-coffee mb-0 focus-visible:outline focus-visible:outline-black-coffee focus-visible:outline-2 focus-visible:outline-offset-2 focus-visible:shadow-focus-color text-left\" data-testid=\"paragraph-content\">Goki Ishikawa, who will become Fujirebio\u2019s new president and group CEO in April, will face challenges in establishing the new test in real-world lab settings; at a conference of experts in December, doctors raised concerns about the test\u2019s high false positive rate.
