He likened the current moment to the period just before the Covid-19 pandemic, arguing that the disruption driven by AI could prove “much, much bigger”.

The warning has resonated across US tech and investment circles, capping several uneasy weeks in which traditional software-as-a-service (SaaS) stocks came under pressure amid concerns that their business models could be undermined in an AI-driven economy.

China, however, has so far appeared relatively insulated from this latest bout of AI-fuelled anxiety.

Even as Chinese AI models continue to narrow the gap with their US counterparts, particularly following a string of major releases over the past week, legacy software stocks in China have largely held steady.

Some AI-adjacent firms have even attracted fresh investor interest. Cultural and content-creation companies, for example, saw share prices rise after ByteDance unveiled its powerful Seedance 2.0 video-generation model, as the industry expects the tool to improve productivity and streamline workflows.

Artificial intelligence is already reshaping industries and markets, even though artificial general intelligence (AGI) – a still theoretical…

[261
291,6006,289,290,8473,381,125796,18,4202,19,17,160371,160372,47606,24535,20827,14673,307,152412,2792,82,107
0":"post-337136","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-artificial-intelligence","8":"tag-ai","9":"tag-anthropic","10":"tag-artificial-intelligence","11":"tag-artificialintelligence","12":"tag-bytedance","13":"tag-china","14":"tag-concordia-ai","15":"tag-eire","16":"tag-hong-kong","17":"tag-ie","18":"tag-ireland","19":"tag-ivan-su","20":"tag-matt-shumer","21":"tag-minimax","22":"tag-moonshot-ai","23":"tag-morningstar","24":"tag-omdia","25":"tag-openai","26":"tag-openclaw","27":"tag-shanghai","28":"tag-technology","29":"tag-us
["GET
