It was announced back in 2023 that Blumhouse<\/strong> and James Wan\u2019s Atomic Monster<\/strong> are bringing the popular horror video game Dead by Daylight<\/strong> to the big screen with a movie, and The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> provides a fresh new update on the project this week.<\/p>\n

The \u201cscary cinematic adaptation\u201d of the Behaviour Interactive video game will be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick<\/strong> (Orphan, Aquaman, The Conjuring 2) and French master of horror Alexandre Aja<\/strong> (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D, Crawl).<\/p>\n

THR notes, \u201cAja is not directing\u00a0Daylight\u00a0as he is\u00a0due to helm\u00a0Under Paris 2<\/a> for Netflix. With the writers now in place and working, the companies are beginning the search for a director.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat David and Alexandre bring to\u00a0Dead by Daylight\u00a0is a rare balance of character driven storytelling and relentless genre intensity,\u201d said Jason Blum. \u201cDrawing from survival horror and psychological terror, their work establishes a world where fear is not just experienced, but earned. It is a cinematic blueprint designed to attract a director who can elevate that vision through performance and scale.\u201d<\/p>\n

Launched in 2016, the popular\u00a0Dead by Daylight\u00a0is a multiplayer slasher video game that pits characters up against slasher maniacs both original and iconic to the world of horror.<\/p>\n
