Evan Ferguson produced another stellar display in another Roma victory in a difficult personal week.<\/p>\n
The Irish striker\u2019s grandfather Fergus (Fergie) Ferguson passed away on Thursday, just two days before Evan led the line against Pisa.<\/p>\n
It was his second straight Serie A start and, despite incurring a first-half booking, 10 minutes into the second half he teed up Mat\u00edas Soul\u00e9 for the only goal at the Stadio Romeo Anconetani.<\/p>\n
Using all his strength and poise to control the ball with his back to goal, his layoff allowed Mat\u00edas Soul\u00e9 to rifle his shot home for what proved the winner.<\/p>\n
It sealed a perfect start to the reign of Gian Piero Gasperini, following up last week\u2019s openin night win over Bologna.<\/p>\n
Ferguson has emerged as his first-choice striker, playing the same 73 minutes as he did on his debut and again being replaced by Artem Dovbyk.<\/p>\n
The 20-year-old will return to Ireland on Sunday to be with his family at this difficult time.<\/p>\n
