\n\tShudder has secured North American rights to \u201cHellcat<\/a>,\u201d a psychological horror thriller that marks the feature directorial debut of Brock Bodell, Blue Finch Films<\/a> revealed at Berlin\u2019s European Film Market<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe streamer plans to release the film later this year following its premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival, where it received positive critical reception. Bodell previously gained recognition on the festival circuit with his short film \u201cGrief.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tU.K.-based sales and distribution company Blue Finch Films has also closed deals with Meteor Film for Germany and Falcon Films for the MENA region. Blue Finch will handle releases in the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe tense thriller centers on Lena, a woman with a severe wound who regains consciousness inside a moving camper trailer. The driver warns her they have only one hour to reach medical help before she faces a dire outcome. As her condition deteriorates and her perception of reality becomes unreliable, the question of who poses the real threat intensifies.<\/p>\n

\n\tDakota Gorman, known for \u201cNatural Disasters,\u201d leads the cast. The ensemble includes Todd Terry (\u201cBreaking Bad\u201d), Liz Atwater (\u201cThe Other People\u201d), Jordan Mullins (\u201cThe Bikeriders\u201d) and \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d cast member James Austin Johnson in a voice role.<\/p>\n

\n\tBodell wrote and directed the project, producing alongside Andrew Duensing (\u201cThe Dead Center\u201d) and Nate Eggert (\u201cI Can Feel You Walking\u201d). Maris Bodell (\u201cGrief\u201d), Noah Lang (\u201cBlood for Dust\u201d) and Matt Phelps served as executive producers. Zak Engel (\u201cUltrasound\u201d) composed the score.<\/p>\n

\n\tBlue Finch Films\u2019 current international slate includes holiday-themed horror \u201cUnholy Night,\u201d Rotterdam Film Festival selection \u201cBowels of Hell,\u201d SXSW title \u201cImposters\u201d and \u201cDolly,\u201d which IFC will release theatrically in March.<\/p>\n

\n\tShudder continues to expand its horror offerings with approximately 30 film releases annually.
