\t\t\t\t\t\t\tESA astronaut Matthias Maurer refreshes his medical skills at ESA’s EAC ahead of his Cosmic Kiss mission<\/a><\/p>\n As part of a portfolio of educational activities aiming to prepare and integrate individuals, the ESA Space Medicine Team will host the Space Physician Training Course (SPTC)\u00a0from 20 \u2013 22 January 2026 at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany.<\/p>\n During the three-day SPTC 2026 programme, participants will attend presentations given by ESA\u2019s leading experts, detailing the realities of supporting ESA astronauts\u2019 health and well-being before, during and after their missions. ESA Flight Surgeons and other members of the Space Medicine Team will discuss topics ranging from the challenges of the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) space environment and the physiological consequences it has on the human body, to medical operations and countermeasures that are employed or being developed for future human exploration missions beyond LEO.\u00a0<\/p>\n If you would like to join the SPTC, please apply by completing and submitting the application form here<\/a>.
