\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>Searchlight Pictures<\/a> has come on to acclaimed director Hirokazu Kore-eda<\/a> next English-language project and set Eddie Redmayne<\/a> to star and produce. The untitled feature will also be written by Kore-eda, with Jonathan King and Ash Sarohia joining Redmayne as producers. Joyce Jun and\u00a0Kaoru Matsuzaki will exec produce.<\/p>\n

\n\tPlot details are unknown at this time.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the producing front, Redmayne has been growing diversified slate of projects having also recently produced Cabaret the Peacock\/Sky series The Day of the Jackal, on which he is star and executive producer and in production on Season 2. The series\u00a0premiered as Sky\u2019s biggest new series ever in addition to the show being ranked No. 1 on Peacock\u2019s Top 10 TV Shows and in the Top 5 Streaming Originals in the U.S. during its debut week.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the acting side, Redmayne received\u00a0Golden Globe, SAG and Critics Choice nominations for his performance in\u00a0Jackal,\u00a0which also earned Golden Globe and Critics\u2019\u00a0Choice nominations for\u00a0Best Drama Series.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tRedmayne demonstrated his producer chops when initiating the West End revival of Cabaret starring Jessie Buckley. It also marked his return to stage; he played the role of Emcee. The 2022 production won a record seven Olivier Awards including Redmayne taking home Best Actor in a Musical. Following its success on the West End, the revival was brought to Broadway earning\u00a0nine Tony Award nominations,<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the pipeline,\u00a0Redmayne will star in Warner Bros Panic Carefully opposite Julia Roberts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tFor Kore-eda, his 2018 film\u00a0Shoplifters\u00a0won the Palme d\u2019Or at the Cannes Film Festival, was Japan\u2019s official submission to the Oscars and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. The film was widely honored by international critics\u2019 groups and became one of the most successful Japanese films worldwide in recent years.<\/p>\n

\n\tKore-eda has also worked internationally, directing the French feature\u00a0The Truth\u00a0and the Korean feature\u00a0Broker,\u00a0as well as the Netflix series\u00a0The Makanai\u00a0and\u00a0Asura. His most recent films include\u00a0Monster\u00a0and\u00a0Sheep in the Box, set to release later this year.<\/p>\n
