Elon Musk<\/a>\u2019s estranged daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson<\/a>, 21, dug into her father\u2019s shift into right-wing culture and politics on Thursday while opening up about how she coped with him denouncing her. <\/p>\n

Wilson appeared on Thursday\u2019s episode of drag star Maddy Morphosis\u2019s show \u201cGive It to Me Straight,\u201d where she was jokingly introduced as a \u201cvictim of the woke mind virus,\u201d a reference to a comment made by the Tesla CEO<\/a> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Later, the host called Wilson \u201cthe estranged daughter of Elon Musk,\u201d prompting Wilson to respond, \u201cWho\u2019s that?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUh, some government person. I don\u2019t know,\u201d Morphosis said. <\/p>\n

\u201cNot anymore,\u201d Wilson said, alluding to her father\u2019s short-lived role <\/a>as President Donald Trump\u2019s \u201cspecial government employee.\u201d <\/p>\n

Wilson opened up to Morphosis about how she felt last year when her father said she was dead to him during an interview <\/a>with right-winger Jordan Peterson<\/a>. Musk told Peterson<\/a> his \u201cson\u201d was \u201cdead\u201d and \u201ckilled by the woke mind virus,\u201d claiming he was \u201ctricked\u201d into signing documents for Wilson\u2019s gender-affirming care. <\/p>\n

\u201cI look at my phone and I\u2019m like, \u2018Wow, wow,\u2019\u201d Wilson told Morphosis. She later confirmed that Musk did approve her for puberty blockers and \u201ccan\u2019t tell the story of how that happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s one of the greatest mysteries of our time,\u201d Wilson added.<\/p>\n

Wilson told Morphosis she was in Tokyo when the Peterson interview came out, and went to a convenience store to grab a gin and tonic after seeing what Musk said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually got really good at [Nintendo game] \u2018Smash Brothers\u2019 that day because to distract myself, I was very drunk,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cDon\u2019t do that. Don\u2019t. Not a good coping mechanism.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Wilson, her father\u2019s shift into conservatism happened long before his interview with Peterson. She referenced a section in Musk\u2019s biography, written by Walter Isaacson, that suggested that he became more vocal about trans issues following Wilson\u2019s transition in 2022. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere was like an extensive bit about me basically being like, \u2018This is the reason for his tragic villain backstory origin,\u2019\u201d Wilson said. \u201cHe was like this before. Don\u2019t blame me.
