Winter Fuel Payments will help scores of pensioners across the UK with their heating bills <\/a>this year. Most people get the money automatically if they\u2019re eligible.<\/p>\n If you were born before 22 September 1959 you could get between \u00a3100 and \u00a3300 to help you pay your heating bills for winter 2025 to 2026. If your income is over \u00a335,000, HMRC <\/a>will take your Winter Fuel Payment back.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re eligible, you\u2019ll get a letter in October or November saying how much you\u2019ll get. However, many people may not realise that not all pensioners <\/a>are eligible for the payment. This reminder comes after a major scam warning was issued over Winter Fuel Payments, with the DWP asking older people to be aware of fraudulent text messages, as reported by ChronicleLive.<\/a><\/p>\n So who qualifies for the cash and who doesn’t? The Government specifies that you can get a Winter Fuel Payment if you were born before 22 September 1959 and live in England or Wales.<\/p>\n But there are certain circumstances when you will not be eligible.
