He was seen by millions bickering with his father Jeff Brazier<\/a> while they trekked across the globe on the popular BBC<\/a> show Celebrity Race Across The World<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At one point, Freddy Brazier\u00a0\u2013 Jeff\u2019s younger son with the late Jade Goody<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 accused his dad of not speaking \u2018openly\u2019, a comment that led Jeff to storm off.<\/p>\n

While they resolved their differences on that occasion, they have spent much of the last year estranged, only to be reunited some weeks ago.<\/p>\n

The sudden ending of their feud came as something as a shock to fans who wondered just what had happened to change relations so dramatically.<\/p>\n

Now, we have the answer: the impending pitter patter of tiny feet. As I revealed in yesterday\u2019s Mail on Sunday, Freddy is preparing to become a dad himself, as an ex-girlfriend of his is expecting their baby.<\/p>\n

\u2018There was only one person that Freddy could have turned to,\u2019 says my source. \u2018His dad.\u2019<\/p>\n

While relations had been strained for some time, particularly when Jeff hired lawyers in a bid to stop Freddy seeing his notoriously unstable grandmother, he always knew that his father would be there for him if a crisis arose.<\/p>\n

\u2018He has been in close contact with Jeff ever since, and has been taking his advice,\u2019 I\u2019m told. \u2018It came as a shock to Freddy that he is going to be a dad and he needed some help navigating it. Jeff has been amazing and is helping him so much.\u2019<\/p>\n

Sources also tell me that Freddy would like a DNA test to be conducted on the child to ensure that it is actually his before he gets too involved in arrangements for the baby\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

\u2018The relationship was quite short lived and he wants to be certain before he plans the rest of his life around it,\u2019 said one friend.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m told that Freddy\u2019s brief relationship with the woman ended acrimoniously following a string of rows \u2013 which even saw each of them make allegations to the police.<\/p>\n

It is perhaps no surprise then that, as a source says: \u2018Jeff wants to meet the girl\u2019s family so that they can all deal with this together.\u2019<\/p>\n

Following Freddy’s baby news, Jeff seemed in good spirits as he took to his Instagram Stories to share a beaming snap with a pal who had come to watch him in his current theatre show of 101 Dalmatians.<\/p>\n

The TV star posted the song Life Will Be by Cleo Sol alongside the picture which includes optimistic lyrics such as ‘Life will be just you believe in you’.<\/p>\n

The song continues: ‘If you’re alive, there’s no excuse. Get out of your mind, you cannot lose this one time. It could be right.’<\/p>\n

Millions fell in love with Freddy when he appeared with his father on Celebrity Race Across The World last year. Travelling and introspection often go hand in hand, and the cameras were there to film the pair as they aired their differences, particularly over Freddy\u2019s upbringing.<\/p>\n

Freddy, 20, and his older brother, Strictly star Bobby, 22, went to live with Jeff when they were three and four years old following Jade\u2019s death from cervical cancer in 2009.<\/p>\n

Since then the brothers have chosen very different paths in life. Last week, it was reported that actor Bobby, who recently quit his role in EastEnders, plans to move to India to pursue his devotion to the Hare Krishna faith.<\/p>\n

Troubled model and TV presenter Freddy, meanwhile, had an adolescence marked by drug abuse and stints in psychiatric care.<\/p>\n

Jeff, who is the parenting expert on ITV’s This Morning, has long blamed Freddy\u2019s grandmother Jackiey Budden for the occasions on which his son veered off the rails.<\/p>\n

She had admitted that she was a \u2018crack head\u2019 when her daughter Jade was growing up, but has denied claims that she got Freddy hooked on cannabis.<\/p>\n

However, Jeff saw her as such a bad influence on his son that he took legal action in a last ditch bid to prise the pair apart, but Freddy refused to cut his nan out of his life, even saying he would be happy to defy any formal ruling and travel abroad to spend time with Jackiey.<\/p>\n

\u2018Nothing would stop me from seeing my Nana. She\u2019s family, and she\u2019s the closest thing I\u2019ve got to my mum,\u2019 he said. After all, he lived with Jackiey, on and off, for years in her flat in Bermondsey, south-east London.<\/p>\n

Yet six months on, Freddy has switched sides in dramatic fashion. Last week, in a bombshell U-turn, Freddy\u00a0\u2013 who had previously insisted she had never been responsible for his drug use\u00a0\u2013 accused his grandmother of getting him hooked on strong cannabis when he was just 12.<\/p>\n

On his new podcast, A Load Of Old Cobblers, he said: \u2018My nan is definitely the person who introduced me to \u201creefer\u201d and got me hooked. It\u2019s one of those things, I was 12.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve been smoking since I was 12, I\u2019ve been to rehab, I\u2019ve been sectioned, I\u2019ve had manic episodes… There\u2019s been a real journey and it\u2019s been a tough one.\u2019<\/p>\n

His comments prompted Jackiey to blast back, insisting she is not responsible for his cannabis use. She told the Daily Mail: \u2018I\u2019ve read all these things he\u2019s said about me and I just can\u2019t believe he\u2019d say them. It just isn\u2019t true at all \u2013 I can\u2019t believe it.<\/p>\n

\u2018Freddy was smoking as a kid with his mates long before he and I ever smoked together… he got into some bad crowds but it had nothing to do with me.<\/p>\n

\u2018All I\u2019ve ever tried to do is look out for him, and give him somewhere safe to be whenever he wants to \u2013 and this has really upset me that he would do this.<\/p>\n

\u2018I can only think Jeff and his little princess wife have put him up to it \u2013 but I don\u2019t know why when everything was in a better place.\u2019<\/p>\n

Today, Freddy is spending more time with his father and his artist wife Kate at their home near Harlow in Essex. One friend speaks for many when they say they hope that impending fatherhood will prompt him to \u2018get his act together and grow up\u2019.<\/p>\n

They add: \u2018Freddy says he wants to get his own place but he isn\u2019t working, and doesn\u2019t have access to money left by his mum until he\u2019s in his mid-20s, so until then he\u2019d have to find a way of paying his own rent.<\/p>\n
