Kostas Tsimikas<\/a> has joined Serie A side AS Roma on a season-long loan, having found himself out of the picture for a starting spot at left-back at Liverpool.<\/b><\/p>\n

Tsimikas made 29 appearances in all competitions in Arne Slot<\/a>\u2018s first campaign at Liverpool \u2013 his best tally in a single season \u2013 but dropped down the pecking order this summer.<\/p>\n

With Milos Kerkez<\/a> starting every game so far, the decision was made to omit the Greek entirely as interest in a transfer developed.<\/p>\n

But despite the likes of Nottingham Forest<\/a> and Valencia considering moves, Liverpool found themselves short of permanent offers for their No. 21.<\/p>\n

Instead an agreement was reached to loan Tsimikas to Roma for the remainder of 2025\/26, with the Italian side covering his wages.<\/p>\n

Liverpool were hopeful of including an option or obligation to buy as part of the deal but instead it is a straight loan, meaning the situation will be revisited next summer.<\/p>\n

By that point Tsimikas will have two year left on his contract, with another decision to make over a sale bar any major change of circumstances at his parent club.<\/p>\n

He becomes the 10th Liverpool player currently out on loan, but that number is expected to increase by Monday\u2019s 7pm transfer deadline.<\/p>\n

The likes of Vitezslav Jaros<\/a>, James McConnell<\/a>, Lewis Koumas<\/a> and Luca Stephenson<\/a> have already departed in temporary moves, though Isaac Mabaya\u2019s stint at Wigan is set to be cut short due to injury.<\/p>\n
