<\/p>\nrsjad Rasjid of the Indonesian Business Council (IBC) has urged the government, business and society to work together to achieve national prosperity by increasing economic output and eradicating poverty.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe goal the government wants to achieve today is zero percent poverty and 8 percent economic [GDP] growth. This is where our collective effort comes in, that\u2019s what the President refers to as \u2018Indonesia incorporated\u2019,\u201d the chairman of IBC\u2019s supervisory board told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWorking together economically is extremely important,\u201d he continued, emphasizing that collaboration between the government, businesses and other stakeholders was key to realizing the country\u2019s full economic potential in what he called its \u201c0-8 vision\u201d.<\/p>\n
Arsjad, who is also a commissioner of mining and energy company PT Indika Energy, was speaking on the sidelines of a press conference to announce the Indonesia Economic Summit (IES) 2026, the council\u2019s annual flagship event.<\/p>\n
Billed as a strategic platform for policy dialogue and business engagement to guide policy direction, IES aims to create a transparent, productive and competitive business ecosystem that benefits enterprises and society at large.<\/p>\n
Policymakers, business leaders and academics will convene at the summit from Feb. 3 to 4 in Jakarta to discuss strategies for enhancing Indonesia\u2019s economic competitiveness and promoting inclusive growth.<\/p>\n
