However, 68% do allow users to freeze contactless payments entirely.<\/li>\n<li>The findings come ahead of rule changes from March 19 that will enable firms to set higher contactless limits than the current \u00a3100 ceiling. Katie Brain, <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/finance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">banking<\/a> expert at Defaqto, said: &#8220;With the contactless cap being removed, choosing a bank or building society with the right in-app controls could make a real difference to how easily people manage their money.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/politics\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Financial Conduct Authority<\/a> is implementing the changes to help firms adapt to consumer demands and new technology. Existing fraud protections will remain in place for unauthorised transactions.<\/li>\n<li>UK Finance has indicated it doesn&#8217;t expect immediate changes to the \u00a3100 limit.
