Gal Gadot was certain the live-action remake of \u201cSnow White\u201d was \u201cgoing to be a huge success,\u201d she told a group of interviewers in Israel in a wide-ranging interview published this week. <\/p>\n

But then the events of October 7, 2023, took place, and \u201cwhat\u2019s happening in all kinds of industries and also in Hollywood, is that there\u2019s a lot of pressure on celebrities to bring up things against Israel,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Gadot was asked about the movie \u2014 described as a \u201chuge flop\u201d by the interviewers \u2014 as she participated in an interview with amateur journalists who are on the autism spectrum. She also shared that working with Rachel Zegler was \u201cfun\u201d and that the pair shared a lot of laughter during their time together. <\/p>\n

Zegler came under fire in 2024 after posting the words<\/a> \u201cand always remember, free palestine\u201d on X after thanking her fans for their support for the \u201cSnow White\u201d trailer. Gadot served in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) from 2004-2009.<\/p>\n

Despite Zegler and Gadot\u2019s best efforts, the controversy impacted the film\u2019s box office performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can always explain and try to give people in the world a context about what\u2019s happening [in Israel] and what the reality is here, but in the end people decide for themselves,\u201d Gadot also said. \u201cI was disappointed that the movie was greatly affected by that and didn\u2019t do well at the box office.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSnow White\u201d was also banned in Lebanon<\/a> after its release.<\/p>\n
