It ain\u2019t funny, this song means a lot to us and other people, and you don\u2019t get to appropriate it without a fight.\u00a0<br \/>Also, go fuck yourselves\u2026\u00a0Radiohead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tA choral version of \u201cLet Down\u201d appears as the soundtrack to a video appearing on ICE\u2019s social media accounts that shows a montage of victims of violence that the government agency attributes to \u201cillegal aliens\u201d \u201craping and murdering\u201d U.S. citizens.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe text accompanying the video reads: \u201cThousands of American families have been torn apart because of criminal illegal alien violence. American citizens raped and murdered by those who have no right to be in our country. This is who we fight for. This is our why.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Thousands of American families have been torn apart because of criminal illegal alien violence.<\/p>\n<p>American citizens raped and murdered by those who have no right to be in our country.<\/p>\n<p>This is who we fight for.<\/p>\n<p>This is our why. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lKQp1lb4Q2\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/lKQp1lb4Q2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (@ICEgov) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ICEgov\/status\/2024235605949919438?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 18, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tRadiohead\u2019s objection to ICE using its music follows other pop stars decrying their songs being picked up for viral videos depicting the roundup of immigrants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOlivia Rodrigo wrote in a message to ICE in November, \u201cDon\u2019t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda,\u201d after DHS used her song \u201cAll American Bitch\u201d in a video portraying agents chasing and detaining immigrants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSabrina Carpenter had her own message after the agency used her \u201cJuno\u201d song to accompany footage of immigrants being tackled and arrested. \u201cThis video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda,\u201d Carpenter wrote at the time. Rather than leave her out of their future messaging, though, ICE again featured her in a video lifted from a \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d commercial, with altered voiceover to make it sound like she was arresting cast member Marcello Hern\u00e1ndez for being \u201ctoo illegal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe plain-talking message from Radiohead follows a more polite message that Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood and director Paul Thomas Anderson sent to the makers of the \u201cMelania\u201d documentary, asking that a piece of scoring from \u201cThe Phantom Thread\u201d that was licensed for the film be taken out. Greenwood contended that his contract for working on \u201cPhantom Thread\u201d mandated that he at least be made aware of any future licensing for the music, which he said did not occur.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn a Variety <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/music\/news\/melania-documentary-producer-jonny-greenwood-music-interview-1236670805\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">interview with \u201cMelania\u201d producer Marc Beckman<\/a> published this week, the advisor to Melania Trump said Radiohead was one of his favorite bands, and that he would entertain a conversation with Greenwood about his concerns. But Beckman reiterated that the \u201cPhantom Thread\u201d cue was properly licensed and would never come out of the movie. He said that the Greenwood instrumental was one of the pieces of music he was proudest of having in the film.
