{"id":360074,"date":"2026-02-28T02:25:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T02:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/360074\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T02:25:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T02:25:08","slug":"former-kerry-garda-station-sold-for-e200000-at-auction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/360074\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Kerry garda station sold for \u20ac200,000 at auction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former Kerry garda station was sold for \u20ac200,000 at auction yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Estate agents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eracork.ie\/property\/former-garda-station-residence-upper-main-street-brosna-kerry\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ERA Downey McCarthy<\/a> brought the former Brosna garda station to the market by public auction, which was held yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The detached, two-storey station in the middle of the village closed in January 2013 and was transferred to the OPW.<\/p>\n<p>State bodies were offered the site <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiokerry.ie\/news\/former-kerry-garda-station-to-be-placed-on-the-market-13-years-after-it-closed-461862\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in the 13 years since<\/a>, but none pursued an acquisition, although Kerry County Council considered it twice.<\/p>\n<p>Bids started at \u20ac115,000 at yesterday\u2019s online auction, before rising to \u20ac200,000 in the space of 35 minutes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A former Kerry garda station was sold for \u20ac200,000 at auction yesterday.
