Security guards aggressively removed the man from the stage, and Sombr returned to the microphone to segue into his next song.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tShortly after the performance came to a close, Sombr\u2019s rep confirmed to Variety that the whole thing was part of the act. Fans were already split online over whether the incident was staged or real. Naysayers noticed that the offender was wearing a shirt that read \u201cSombr is a homewrecker\u201d \u2014 a nod to his latest single \u201cHomewrecker,\u201d which some claimed was a dead giveaway. But others weren\u2019t necessarily convinced it was a stunt, considering how hard he was pushed and how additional security guards came to his rescue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBrits host Jack Whitehall remarked on the incident after Sombr\u2019s performance concluded. \u201cSuch a shame we didn\u2019t have the security ready,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe incident took place just days after Britain\u2019s BAFTA Awards last Sunday, when John Davidson, the Scottish Tourette\u2019s syndrome activist and real-life inspiration for the film \u201cI Swear,\u201d disrupted that ceremony with an outburst of racial slurs that occurred as \u201cSinners\u201d stars Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were onstage. \u201cI can\u2019t begin to explain how upset and distraught I have been as the impact from Sunday sinks in,\u201d Davidson told Variety earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhitehall made a joking reference to that incident \u2014 which was not bleeped from the initial BAFTA broadcast and was audible to viewers \u2014 at the top of the Brits, saying \u201cWe\u2019ve got the best in the business on the bleep button.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSombr is coming off a red-hot year that saw his various singles \u201cUndressed,\u201d \u201cBack to Friends\u201d and \u201c12 to 12\u201d impact the charts.
