{"id":364147,"date":"2026-03-02T16:22:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T16:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/364147\/"},"modified":"2026-03-02T16:22:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T16:22:11","slug":"accident-prone-man-told-to-cop-on-by-judge-after-crashing-car-in-limerick-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/364147\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Accident prone&#8217; man told to &#8216;cop on&#8217; by judge after crashing car in Limerick city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A YOUNG man who crashed his partner&#8217;s car into a wall has been fined in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> City District Court.<\/p>\n<p>Devlyn Young, 29, with a home address at Danesfort Drive, Loughrea, county Galway, took his partner\u2019s car without her permission on December 21, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Inspector Liam Wallace, giving garda evidence, said that the man crashed the car into a wall at Danesfort, Corbally, Limerick, and that the impact of the collision caused the car\u2019s air bags to be deployed.<\/p>\n<p>Limerick District Court heard that Mr Young did not possess a driver\u2019s licence at the time of the incident, and that he was not insured to drive the car.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/politics\/2019385\/limerick-homeowners-await-compensation-after-rodent-infestations-amid-vegetation-clearing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick homeowners await compensation after rodent infestations amid vegetation clearing<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The man\u2019s solicitor detailed that Mr Young went for a short drive \u201cto get something to eat\u201d, and that the collision occurred on \u201ca bad bend\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The man lived in Corbally at the time.<\/p>\n<p>The solicitor described the incident as a \u201cmost unusual case\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The court heard in mitigation that Mr Young previously trained and worked as a chef -and has been employed as a shop worker.
