Aston Villa<\/a> are working on a loan deal for Harvey Elliott<\/a> with an obligation to make the deal permanent next summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elliott\u2019s future is one of several that will be decided on deadline day, with Leipzig and Aston Villa<\/a> among those to have identified the 22-year-old as a target.<\/p>\n

The Athletic<\/a>\u2018s David Ornstein now reports that Arson villa are \u201cclosing in\u201d on a deal to sign Elliott on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy him next summer.<\/p>\n

The Times<\/a>\u2018 Paul Joyce adds that the fee would be \u201caround\u201d \u00a335 million, which would be a considerable profit on Liverpool\u2019s books. <\/p>\n

Ornstein states that \u201cdiscussions between the clubs have centred around a structure of an agreement that ensures Villa comply with UEFA\u2019s financial restrictions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The club were seeking a deal for their No. 18 in excess of \u00a340 million plus a buy-back option, or above \u00a350 million without one if he was to move on after six years at Anfield.<\/p>\n

Aston Villa<\/a> have been in the market for reinforcements this summer having only signed forward Evann Guessand and goalkeeper Marco Bizot, with their 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace<\/a> compounding their woes.<\/p>\n

Unai Emery\u2019s side will compete in the Europa League<\/a> this season and Elliott will not be short on opportunities, something Slot cannot promise the 22-year-old. <\/p>\n
