Ahead of that, reviews for the show put it in rarified air.<\/p>\n<p>What are Young Sherlock reviews saying? <\/p>\n<p>Over on Rotten <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/tv\/young_sherlock\/s01\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tomatoes<\/a>, Young Sherlock has debuted with a perfect 100% rating. Although this is just for eight critics, the series has gotten a ton of praise, enough so that the show has lifted itself up above the Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes films, all of which were also viewed highly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/young-sherlock-review-prime-video-guy-ritchie-hero-fiennes-tiffin\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Collider\u2019s Therese Lacson<\/a> praised the show, even though it skews far from more adaptive work. \u201cWhat Young Sherlock lacks in accuracy to the source material, it makes up for in pure entertainment,\u201d wrote Lacson. <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/young-sherlock-tv-review\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Screen Rant\u2019s Ben Gibbons <\/a>echoed that, calling it \u201can incredibly clever and imaginative retelling of a classic story that manages to preserve the best aspects of the source material, while also boldly breaking new ground and redefining the characters involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/comicbook.com\/tv-shows\/review\/young-sherlock-tv-review\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ComicBook\u2019s Simon Gallagher<\/a> said the show felt like \u201can exciting new addition to a very familiar universe, unconcerned about making a pure adaptation, but faithful enough that the bolt-ons are very welcome.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/reviews\/young-sherlock-review-prime-video-1236674654\/#recipient_hashed=3a3baf33fde74a0cf9fc3af244dd666d88a51fe84dd964875093b5a98d5764b6&amp;recipient_salt=920d8b92feb07303a242938a23f9992cf27f3e5e076fcc9aa292a484a5828153&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=exacttarget&amp;utm_campaign=newsalert&amp;utm_content=667865_03-02-2026&amp;utm_term=10030496&amp;utm_medium=&amp;utm_source=&amp;utm_campaign=&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_id=\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Variety\u2019s Aramide Tinubu<\/a>, likewise, said the show \u201cis a compelling origin story that brings a classic character to life.
