Combs&#8217; release date was previously set at five weeks later, on June 4, 2028.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">This is not the first time that the 56-year-old&#8217;s release date has fluctuated since his 2025 conviction: Combs was originally slated for release on May 8, 2028, before getting pushed back to the June date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Representatives for Combs didn&#8217;t immediately respond to EW&#8217;s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The disgraced music mogul has been imprisoned since his September 2024 arrest, when <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/diddy-trial-charges-explained-11733293\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:he was charged with;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">he was charged with<\/a> sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His highly publicized federal trial began in New York on May 12. Combs pleaded not guilty and has denied all of the allegations against him.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Sean CombsCredit: Neilson Barnard\/Getty\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/93733d749722057882d68fcd55e20c2f.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Sean Combs<br \/>Credit: Neilson Barnard\/Getty<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office for the Southern District of New York accused Combs of leading a criminal enterprise that &#8220;abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdny\/media\/1368556\/dl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:according to the indictment;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">according to the indictment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Singer Casandra &#8220;Cassie&#8221; Ventura, who is also Combs&#8217; ex-girlfriend, served as the prosecution&#8217;s star witness. Ventura said the relationship left her feeling &#8220;humiliated.&#8221; While Combs did not testify in the trial, his lawyers maintained that all the sex at issue in the case was consensual.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Combs was <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/sean-diddy-combs-not-guilty-sex-trafficking-cassie-ventura-guilty-transportation-prostitution-11757581\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:ultimately found guilty;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">ultimately found guilty<\/a> of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, a verdict that was widely seen as a legal victory for the rapper, as he was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges that could have seen him sentenced to life in prison.
