These dynamics flip upside down when the husband accidentally zaps his wife with his latest invention, a biotech riff on a shrink ray<\/a> whose power he doesn\u2019t quite understand\u2014including how to reverse its effects.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the premise for Peacock\u2019s The Miniature Wife, which feels a little heavy-handed until you consider the talents involved: Elizabeth Banks<\/a> and Matthew Macfadyen<\/a>. With these two aboard, charm will clearly outweigh any heavy-handed metaphors about the balance of power between couples\u2014though there\u2019ll surely be plenty of those too.<\/p>\n

Banks and Macfadyen also executive produce The Miniature Wife, which, according to a Peacock press release, is based on Manuel Gonzalez\u2019s short story and is \u201ca high-concept marital dramedy examining the power (im)balances between spouses, Lindy and Les, who battle each other for supremacy after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n

More details come from Deadline<\/a>, including the show\u2019s ensemble cast of O-T Fagbenle, Zoe Lister-Jones, Sian Clifford, and Sofia Rosinsky; Ronny Chieng, Aasif Mandvi, Rong Fu, and Tricia Black also play recurring characters. The creators, showrunners, and executive producers are\u00a0Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire, Goliath).<\/p>\n
