Dinos Family Chip Shop held an official grand opening at its new restaurant and drive-thru in Midleton last weekend, for the chain\u2019s first expansion into East Cork and its biggest outside of Cork city.<\/p>\n
The Midleton Dinos fast-food restaurant, which has been open for business since May, is located at Market Green in Knockgriffin and near to the Midleton Fire Station.<\/p>\n
This is the first occasion that the franchise has expanded into East Cork and the opening featured DJs, music and entertainment, and arts and crafts for the children. There was also the chance to spin the wheel for treats and vouchers.<\/p>\n
The Cork chain\u2019s newest restaurant includes an indoor dining area, 18 customer parking spaces, as well as two outdoor pay booths for a drive-thru service.<\/p>\n
Speaking to The Echo about the new enterprise in Midleton, Dino Cregan, of Dinos Family Chip Shops, said that the town was an area with a fantastic community spirit.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very happy. It is a classy development and it is going very well.<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThis is our biggest restaurant outside of Cork city. We are very happy and very content with the way that the public has greeted us,\u201d he added.\n <\/p>\n
The restaurant, which is open from 11am-11pm seven days a week, is the eighth Dinos family chip shop, with others located in Turner\u2019s Cross, Grange, Bishopstown, Blackpool, Douglas, Ballincollig, and Kinsale.<\/p>\n
The restaurant specialises in traditional fish and chips, as well as burgers and other fast-food items, with a special focus on supporting local Cork suppliers and using local ingredients.<\/p>\n
The first Dinos Chip Shop was opened in 1970 on Tower St in Cork city by Mr Cregan, with help and with assistance provided by another famous Cork chip shop owner, Jackie Lennox.<\/p>\n
