Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy’s daughter Sophia made a rare red carpet appearance in New York City<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
The actress, who stars as Ronni in the new HBO series Rooster, dazzled on the carpet, wearing a two-piece leather outfit<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Felicity Huffman<\/a> and William H. Macy<\/a>‘s daughter Sophia<\/a> stepped out for a red carpet appearance.<\/p>\n The 25-year-old actress walked the red carpet for the New York City premiere of the new HBO series Rooster<\/a>, which she stars in as Ronni alongside lead actor Steve Carell<\/a>, on Tuesday, March 3. Sophia, who tends to keep a low profile, dazzled in an all-black leather ensemble and accessorized with black heels. Her hair was slicked back behind her ears, and she paired the look with a dark lip.<\/p>\n In addition to Sophia, Huffman, 63, and Macy, 75, are the share daughter Georgia, 23. Prior to Huffman’s involvement in the 2019\u00a0college admissions scandal<\/a>, the family stayed mostly out of the public eye.<\/p>\n Sophia Macy “They didn’t even watch television<\/a>\u00a0until Sophia broke her collarbone trying to do a handstand,” Macy told PEOPLE in 2017. “So we put her in front of the TV and she started watching movies for the first time.”<\/p>\n When Sophia was 18 years old, Huffman was arrested and charged with paying a proctor to change her older daughter’s SAT exam scores. The\u00a0Desperate Housewives\u00a0actress later pled guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud and\u00a0served 11 days in prison<\/a>.<\/p>\n While Macy was not charged in relation to the event, he stood by his wife’s side during the headline-making scandal, writing, “every good thing in my life is because of Felicity Huffman” in a letter of support to a judge ahead of Huffman’s September 2019 sentencing.<\/p>\n Huffman\u00a0spoke about her role in the college admissions scandal for the first time<\/a>\u00a0in November 2023. During an interview with\u00a0ABC-7 Eyewitness News, the Oscar-nominated actress explained she thought the “criminal scheme” was the “only option to give my daughter a future.”<\/p>\n “People assume that I went into this looking for a way to cheat the system and making proverbial criminal deals in back alleys, but that was not the case,” she said, adding later, “It felt like I had to give my daughter a chance at a future. And so it was sort of like my daughter’s future, which meant I had to break the law.”<\/p>\n William H. However, she still went on to\u00a0graduate from high school<\/a>\u00a0in June 2019 and continued to pursue both college and acting. In the fall of 2020, she\u00a0enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University<\/a>\u00a0as a student in their prestigious theater program. She also made her acting debut in season 2 of Jordan Peele’s CBS show\u00a0The Twilight Zone\u00a0earlier that year.<\/p>\n “I’m so so grateful,” Sophia\u00a0wrote on Instagram<\/a>\u00a0about her role in\u00a0The Twilight Zone. She also called the experience “an absolute pleasure” in\u00a0a separate post<\/a>.<\/p>\n In February 2024, Macy told\u00a0E! News<\/a>\u00a0that he’s excited that Sophia was getting into acting.<\/p>\n “I love this business.
