Gold Derby’s Oscar predictions<\/a> saw a significant shake-up in several categories following Sunday’s Actor Awards<\/a>. On Wednesday, Weapons star Amy Madigan<\/a><\/strong> completed her dramatic ascent and surged to No. 1 in what has been a wide-open Best Supporting Actress race.<\/p>\n

The veteran performer has a 42 percent chance to win the Oscar, ahead of One Battle After Another’s Teyana Taylor<\/strong> (the Golden Globe winner) at 34 percent and Sinners’ Wunmi Mosaku<\/strong> (the BAFTA winner) at 22 percent. The Best Supporting Actress lineup also includes Sentimental Value costars Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas<\/strong> and Elle Fanning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Madigan’s first Oscar nomination was for 1985’s Twice in a Lifetime. If our odds play out and Madigan takes the big prize, the gap between her first bid and first win would be 40 years. That would beat the long-standing gap record for an actress of 32 years set by Geraldine Page<\/a><\/strong>, who was first nominated for 1953’s Hondo before eventually triumphing for 1985’s The Trip to Bountiful.
