\n\tWhen Harry Styles<\/a> announced the dates for his upcoming Together, Together tour, many fans were ecstatic to see the long list of shows he had planned for upcoming album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, but others were confused as to why they all took place across just seven locations, as opposed to a more traditional city-by-city approach.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut in an interview with The Zane Lowe Show for Apple Music 1 posted Wednesday (March 4), the pop star opened up about his thinking behind touring<\/a> in the style of mini-residencies. Quite simply, \u201cI think it makes the show better,\u201d Styles began. \u201cI think you can build something that doesn\u2019t have to travel every night.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Grammy winner went on to explain that staying put in one city for lengthier amounts of time allows for a healthier lifestyle \u2014 not just for him, but for his touring band as well. \u201cI think there\u2019s something in this that allows me to, like, stay in my life while I\u2019m doing it,\u201d he told Lowe. \u201cAnd therefore I think [it] allows me to take care of myself better, which I think makes me better at doing the thing.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s not like I\u2019m saying I\u2019ll never travel again, but I want to see what it looks like if you do it a different way,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd people in my band have families now and kids \u2026 It\u2019s really important to me that they\u2019re on the road, that I would love to have them. I don\u2019t want to make it near impossible for them to be able to come do that with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe interview comes more than a month after Styles announced that he\u2019d be playing more than 60 dates spread out across seven cities: Amsterdam, London, S\u00e3o Paulo, Mexico City, New York City and Australia\u2019s Melbourne and Sydney. His mini-residencies will include 30 nights at Madison Square Garden as well as a record 12 shows<\/a> at Wembley Stadium.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut while some fans were happy to have more chances than ever to see Styles play at any one of the seven venues, others brought up concerns about the amount of people who would need to travel more distance than they\u2019d needed to for past tours. The singer, however, explained to Lowe that nothing has \u201cterrified\u201d him quite as much as sticking to the same game plans over and over.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe\u2019s also looking to make more opportunities for himself to open up his life to others, which requires some consistency in his whereabouts. \u201cI want to have great friendships with people,\u201d he told Lowe on the subject of saying \u201cyes\u201d to more things. \u201cI want a family. I want these things \u2026 What do I have to do to create space to allow these things to happen? I can\u2019t just expect them to just happen to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
