{"id":368812,"date":"2026-03-05T07:47:20","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T07:47:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/368812\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T07:47:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T07:47:20","slug":"meteor-visible-booms-heard-across-b-c-s-south-coast-bc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/368812\/","title":{"rendered":"Meteor visible, booms heard across B.C.\u2019s South Coast &#8211; BC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\tDescrease article font size<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tIncrease article font size<\/p>\n<p>Residents across B.C.\u2019s South Coast were surprised on Tuesday night by what has now been confirmed to be a meteor.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Videos shared online from different areas of Metro Vancouver show two bright flashes around 9:08 p.m., followed by two booms minutes later.<\/p>\n<p>There are reports from people in North Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and even Washington state hearing the big boom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was just sitting on the couch. My fianc\u00e9 was in the kitchen, and all of a sudden we heard this tremendous bang,\u201d North Vancouver resident Max Hacker told Global News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur sliding glass door to the balcony just started shaking. It gave a good two or three shakes in its frame, and then it all just kind of stopped, and we had this minute of, \u2018Did you hear that? Yeah, I heard that. McMillan Space Centre, told Global News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Earth is always being hit by something every day. It\u2019s just about how large the object is. So right now, micrometeorites are hitting our atmosphere. They\u2019re kind of like raining down into our backyards, but sometimes these larger objects hit and sometimes these large objects hit close to metropolitan areas.
